From Brand centre, a broad path leads in turns via the Eggen Maisäß to the Parpfienz Alpe - from here there is gradually rising path to Parpfienz Sattel - here the path joins the “Old” path and leads comfortably down the valley to the Tschengla high plateau.
From here, one can go on foot to Bürserberg or use the Minibus connection. Post office bus connection to Brand.
Alternative routes:
Brand - Alpe Parpfienz - Alpe Rona - Tschengla - Bürserberg – Brand
Brand - Schattenlagant - Lünerseebahn/Talstation – Douglas Hut – Lake circuit with Lünersee Alpe - Douglas Hut
Time: about 2 hours
The Lünersee roundtrip is worthwhile in itself particularly with smaller children. Half way there is an alternative rote via the Lünersee Alpe. The path is mainly flat with direct access to the water in several places.
Brand - Thurner Höhenweg - Bügmiweg - Brand
Time: 2 hours
From the Talstation of the Niggenkopfbahn, a broad path leads in curves to half the valley height. From here, the Thurner Höhenweg continues as a narrow forest path, usually shady on the valley side. The romantic path often gives a view of Brand. Many quiet banks in locations with beautiful views. The Thurner Höhenweg path then joins the Bügmi path and finally the Zalimweg. From here in curves back to Brand and along the Alvierbachweg back to the centre.
Alternative: Brand
Brand - Innertal - Schattenlagantweg - Kesselfall - Brand
Time: 1.5 hours
In the Innertal near the Haus Seekopf the broad path leads easily upwards to the Kesselfall branch-off. To the right over the Bachschlucht, to the bridge over the Kesselfall (natural monument). The way back leads across the Weisstannenmaisäss and via the Schattenlagantstrasse to Brand.
Brand - Glingaweg - Zalimweg - Oberzalimtal - Untere Brüggele Alpe
Time: 2.5 hours
The path runs to a large extent under shady trees along the Palüdbaches, worthwhile particularly in drier warm weather. At half wayis the Glingabrunnen, a group of water sources at the foot of the Mottakopfes, which draws its underground supply from the Brand glacier. The activity of the sources is limited to the period between the middle of May and the middle of October. The Glingaweg then joins the Riedstutz, the broader Zalimweg and then the idyllic Zalimtal. Within a short time, one reaches the lower Brüggele Alpe. The way back leads via the Zalimtalweg to the starting point.
